This fall has been an interesting shift. I’ve been a dancer dealing with injury since June, which has inspired me to focus on recovery and get into arts writing mode. It’s also been an opportunity to write my first grant, and focus on pouring into my students at the studios where I teach.
Things I’ve been learning along the way:
- Healing takes time
- Dancing less allows space for other things in my life
- Injury is mostly a mental game
- To stay positive is a suit of armour that will get you through almost anything
Though I’ve missed prancing around in the studio as much as I usually do, it’s been a time for reflection, a time to quiet my life a little, and appreciate the beautiful place I now live.
I don’t know what 2020 will bring, but I’m confident good things are in store for me!
